A few weeks ago, on 3/15/2020 , I experienced the worst nightmare of my life as a wife and mother of three! My husband and oldest daughter physically attacked me to the point that I nearly died and was hospitalized! Words cannot explain my hurt, my pain, my disappointment, my shame. After more than 23 years of marriage to a man who I gave my all, including four children (a son who's now passed, two daughters who are now adults, and son who is a young teenager) - this is the treatment that I get? My offense? Telling my husband that our grown, unemployed adult kids who live rent-free in our home needed to pitch and contribute more. Yes, that's my offense! Food was thrown in my face, I was locked out of my home, then dragged, punched, kicked, and stomped on! The photo of the bruise on my neck is from my oldest daughter putting her knee into my throat as she sat on me to hold me down as her six-year-old child watched from a car window and her dad - my husband- punched me in the head.
What saved me? My cell phone which was one bar away from dying (neither my husband or daughter knew it was tucked down in my pocket) as they beat me down to the ground!
Now, I am facing homelessness for the first time in my life. On top of that, I suffer from Lupus and a physical disability.
I need help immediately. Any donation will go toward cost of a hotel until I can find a place of my own, temporary transportation to search for housing and get to my medical appointments, medicine, and food. I have contacted 2-1-1 several times for help but due to coronavirus, I am being told that shelters are not taking anyone at this time and I will need to sleep on the streets! The few family members that were able to help me with hotel funds during all of this can't anymore and are not able to take me in out of not having room or being due to fear of coronavirus. I only have enough money to stay two more nights in this hotel. I am trying to find a room for rent for no more than $500/month due to only having social security income but so far, I am finding out that I will need first month, last month, and security deposit. Please help me with whatever and however you can.
